Executive Director Cindy Fuchs says the money raised will go towards football programs in Saskatchewan.

“This includes our elite teams for educational scholarships as well as Football Sask,” Fuchs said. “It also goes to support other foundation programs like Raise a Reader, Grow the Game, ‘Pass, Punt, Kick,’ there’s a number of different opportunities and things that we do within the community that we provide support to and this will help us continue to do that, even during COVID-19.”

There are less than 20 cards left. If this week’s winner does not select the Ace of Spades, another name will be drawn until the jackpot of $602,000 is won.

Fuchs says the sell out is due to a preset amount of tickets sold and money raised.

“This was so successful that we sold out sooner than we thought we would,” Fuchs said. “We could’ve perhaps maybe thought we would sell more, but now we know. This is the first time we tried this.”

Fuchs says with the success of the first ever Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation Chase the Ace, a second one is definitely being planned for later this year.

The draw will be made live on 620 CKRM’s the Sportscage starting at 4:30 on Friday afternoon.

For 3 or more players. From a standard pack of cards remove the Jokers, Ace of Clubs, the Ace of Hearts and the Ace of Diamonds, but leave in the Ace of Spades. Deal the remaining cards out, face down, evenly among the players. Having the exact number for each player is not necessary. Any pairs of cards are removed and discarded.

Player keep their cards hidden from the other players through out the game. Player 1 to the left of the dealer starts and chooses one card from the dealer’s set (dealer presents the cards in his/her hand fanned out with card faces away from player 1). If the card now makes a matching pair this pair is now discarded. The next player to the left Player 2 now selects a card from Player 1. Play continues around the circle in this fashion. A player is out when they have discarded all of their cards. The last card left will be the Ace of Spades, and the player holding it at the end is the loser.
